10 Important Differences
Between the Coming of Jesus
In this study you will discover 10 important differences between the coming of Jesus, and the coming of the great deceiver, Satan. This knowledge can help keep you safe in the days ahead.
The soon return of Jesus Christ has been the hope and longing of people for many long, dark centuries.
The Scriptures tell us: And… while they (Jesus’ disciples) beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:9-11
The word of God says clearly that Jesus will return, and we can be sure that it will occur just as God has said, though the event seems, at times, to have been delayed. There is a reason for this, however:
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter 3:9-13
But, before the end of the world, Satan also will make an appearance claiming to be Jesus. It is his desire to confuse and deceive people before the Savior arrives. With great brightness and beauty, speaking words similar to those our Lord spoke when he was here on earth, and working deceptive miracles, Satan plans to capture the hearts of many, and cause them to fight against Christ when He comes. It will almost be the devil’s last stand (there’s one more to follow; See Revelation 20); but it will clearly be a sign that his end is definitely near.
The Scriptures state: …believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21
In order to avoid deception and know the difference between the return of Jesus, and Satan’s appearance, the word of God needs to be studied thoroughly, and be clearly understood with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
The Apostle Paul’s concern about deceptions in his day exist also now:
…I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3
And Jesus had earlier spoken: …If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31, 32
It is our hope that what you discover in this study will help to prepare you for the coming of Jesus.
Therefore be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh. Matthew 24:44
May we be able to say one day soon: …Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isaiah 25:9

When our daughter was young we shared with her a great way to know how someone who comes claiming to be Jesus, is the true Saviour of the world, or not. Here’s what we told her:
If you see the person’s feet on the ground, it’s not Jesus. When Jesus returns again He will be coming in the clouds of heaven. His feet will not touch the earth.
Satan and his host will not be able to mimic Jesus’ return. Satan, and other deceivers, will be seen on the earth. No matter how they appear, or what they say, you can be assured that they are not the true Saviour of the world.
Beware of them! Go not after them, no matter how inviting they seem to be. This is important counsel for the days ahead. We hope you will consider it well.
